The Food Pantry provides food packages for low-income families who are having difficulty putting food on their tables. Open five days per week and one evening, the Food Pantry provides meat, poultry, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, other food staples and personal hygiene items to
its clients. In addition, clients can select gently-used clothing, baby
supplies, and housewares when they are available.

How? You can:
Dress Barn Clothes Closet
A winter coat, a baby's "onesie," a suit to wear on a job interview -
these little things can make a large difference to someone's life.
People
to People welcomes donations of gently-used and clean clothes on Monday
through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Thursday until 7:00 p.m.
Donated houseware items must be in perfect condition (no broken or chipped dinnerware, no torn or stained bedding, no electrical fires waiting to happen).
Feed The Newcomer
This weekly program provides nutritional bagged lunches and warm clothing to day laborers as they wait for work. For many, this may be their only meal of the day. Each Wednesday, volunteers meet very early in the morning to prepare and distribute between 80 to 100 bagged lunches.
Education is widely acknowledged as the critical component in breaking the
cycle of poverty. That’s what makes PtoP’s Back to School with Dignity (BTSWD) the most powerful of all PtoP programs.
BTSWD is so significant
because it provides essential school supplies to at-risk Rockland students and makes it possible for these students to start the new school year on
the road to success.
This year, BTSWD provided backpacks filled with
school supplies, including scientific calculators for high school
students, to 2,277 children from Rockland’s struggling families.
Computer Exchange
Working PCRenew, a Rockland non-profit organization, People to People is able to provide the children of our clients with restored computers.
Hundreds of Rockland’s at-risk students have received computers so that
they can complete homework, conduct research for school projects and more.
Project Joy!
Project Joy! provides generous donors with the opportunity to “adopt” a family for the holidays, and purchase presents from a child’s Wish List.
Last year, hundreds of families had happy holidays thanks to People to
People and its supporters. |
